Blessed is
the spot, and the house, - Bahá'u'lláhand the place, and the city, and the heart, and the mountain, and the refuge, and the cave, and the valley, and the land, and the sea, and the island, and the meadow where mention of God hath been made, and His praise glorified. |

This
website is for people of north central Illinois who wish to learn more
about the Bahá'í Faith. We would love to meet you. A Bahá'í
cluster
is a geographical grouping of friends to facilitate spiritual growth,
social activities and teaching efforts. We have named our cluster
after Hand of the Cause of God Leroy Ioas. Joliet, a larger city in the cluster, has had a Spiritual Assembly since 1972. The Bahá'í Faith has no ordained clergy. A Spiritual Assembly is a group of nine Bahá'ís elected annually to serve. A Spiritual Assembly is, perhaps, similar to a church board but also serves as a spiritual guide in the community and has certain legal authority granted to clergy, signing a marriage license for example. Some Core Beliefs of the Bahá'í Faith
and our world website: Bahai.org Leroy Ioas (1896-1965)Hand of the Cause of God Leroy Ioas was born in Wilmington, Illinois on February 15, 1896 so the Bahá'ís here claim him as one of our own; hence the name of our Cluster. For an extensive article on the life of service of Hand of the Cause Ioas follow this link to Bahaikipedia (the Wikipedia of Bahá'í topics).
